Strategic leadership is concerned with the long-term direction and orientation of a company, with the goal of reaching sustainable success in the market. Important topics in this area are strategic change of organizations and strategic decisions for sustainable success.
In our research projects in this area, we focus on the role of time in repeated change processes such as acquisitions and restructuring as well as the influence of strategic change on performance. Furthermore, in a number of research projects, we focus on strategic decision-making on the management- and supervisory-board level.
Empirically, our research in this area involves quantitative and qualitative studies using data from the European insurance industry as well as the global pharma industry.
